Life here is not perfect.

It  is  real.

Elephants  do  not  lie.
Trust  is  not  a  show.
This  is  how  we  live.

Trust  That  Took  Years.

This  is  not  a  place  built  on  performance.

It  is  built  on  trust— slowly,  over  time.

Many  of  the  elephants  here  did  not  trust  people  at  first.

Some  carried  that  distance  for  years.

Trust  was  not  created  through  control.

But  through  consistency—being  there,  every day,  without  force.

And  slowly, s omething  changed.

Now,  They  Come  Close.

Today,  they  walk  toward  people.

They  come  close,  open  their  mouths,  and  wait— not  out  of  habit, but  because  they  feel  safe.

And  while  they  trust  us,

we  never  stop  being  careful.

A  Home,  Not  a  System.

This  is  not  a  place  where  roles  are fixed.

A  driver  may  be  cutting  grass.

A  mahout  may  be  fixing  something.

Someone  in  the  kitchen  may  step  in  where  needed.

What  matters  is  not  the  title, but  that  the work  is  done — together.

Work  That  Is  Shared.

Nothing  here  belongs  to  just  one  person.

Work  is  shared. So  are  the  small  things—tips,  support,  even  simple  acts  of  kindness.

There  is  no  competition  here.

Only   people  helping   one  another, the  same  way  they  care  for  the  elephants.

This  way  of  life  asks  for  more  than  work.

There  were  times  when  holding  everything  together  meant letting  go  of  things  we  once  had.

Not  because  it  was  easy—

but  because  the  lives  here  could  not  be  left  behind.

No  one  was  aske d to  leave , not  even  during  pandemic.

Because  this  was  never  just  a  business.

A  Moment  Guests  Remember.

After offering food in the morning,

the elephants begin to help.

They pick up chairs with their trunks,

roll the mats,

and carry things back as part of the routine.

Guests often laughnot because it is unexpected, but because it feels so natural.

Nothing here is done without reason.

They help, and they know exactly what comes after.

And the elephants…They are kinda different.

Some help. Some don’t.

And that is respected.

When  One  Is  Away

There  are  times  when  I  have  to be  away— for days,  sometimes  longer

But  life  here  does  not  stop.

Because  it was  neve r carried  by  one  person  alone. Everyone  steps  in.

Quietly,  and  without  question.

A  Life That Cannot Be Paused.

This  is  not  something  that  can  be  paused,  reduced,  or  set aside.

The  elephants  still  eat.

The  animals  still  wait.

Every  single  day  continues—whether  there  are  visitors   or not.

Even  in  times  when  the  world  outside  slows  down, or  stops  entirely , life  here  does  not.

Care is not scheduled.

It cannot be postponed.

Because what lives herecannot wait.

In  the  Smallest  Things.

Care  is  not  always  seen  in  big  moments.

Sometimes, it  is  in  what  is  prepared  quietly — fruit,  supplements,  small  routines  repeated  every day.

Given  whether  there  are  guests  or  not.

Not  Wild — But No Less.

These  are  not  wild  elephants.

And  they  are  not  meant  to  be.

To  expect  wilderness  here

is  to  misunderstand  what  they  are.

If  one  wishes  to see  elephants  in  the  wild,

there  are  places  for  that, like Khao Yai.

But  this  is  something  else

A  life  lived  alongside  people.

A  relationship  built  over time.

Not  through  control.

but  through  presence.

Not  through  fear,

but  through  trust.

They  are  not  less  because  they  are  not  wild.

They  are  simply..  different.

And  in  that  difference,

there  is  still  dignity,

still  instinct,

still  a  life  that  deserves  respect.

We  care  beyond  one  life.

Care  does  not  stop  with  elephants.

There  are  dogs,  cats, and  even pigs--

Some  rescued,

some  left  behind,

some come  to  us  carrying  wounds,

all  learning to live in the same  home with  elephants.

Living  together  is  not  always  easy. Especially when dogs  roam  around  freely  as  part  of  the  family  here.

Care  is  not  about  choosing  what  is  convenient.

It  is  about  not  turning  away.

Some  care  stay close-- helping the people around us live gently with the elephants.

Some  reaches  further--quietly  without  being seen.

But  all  of  it  come  from  the same  place.

What  Stays.

Nothing here asks to be remembered.

And yet--something  stays.

Not  in  words.

Not  in  photos.

Just a feeling—

You carry with you.

K

 Not a place you visit.
      A place you feel.
