My two days in the jungle at Elephants Home and Nature in Kanchanaburi felt like stepping into another world. The river, the sunrise, the quiet hum of the jungle — all of it set the stage for an experience that touched me deeply.
The elephants roam freely, living as they should, and being able to ride and walk beside them, feed them, and bathe with them in the river was nothing short of magical. Tom, our guide, carries a wealth of knowledge, and the connection he and the mahout share with the elephants is beautiful to witness.
There is something extraordinary about an elephant meeting your gaze. It feels as though it sees straight into you — a moment of humility, emotion, and awe that I will carry with me forever.
